About Us

Catholic University of Central Africa is a private Roman Catholic university in Yaoundé, Cameroon. It was founded in 1989 by the Association of the Episcopal Conference of the Central African Region .The Catholic University of Central Africa (CUCA) is a multicultural university with almost one third of its students and researchers from abroad. CUCA turns “international” into a daily reality, the setting for life and work on campus, just like Yaoundé itself on of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities.
This inter-cultural approach started with Central Africa in the middle of the 20th century, and today involves every continent. The University has 30% Africans and 10% from the rest of the world in its student body.
Promoted the academic programs built around LMD System and the various European mobility programs, cooperation with both countries in European Union and other Emergent countries which always existed in research, is now undergoing a true boom. Beyond the many student exchanges (Erasmus in Europe, bilateral agreements elsewhere in the world), CUCA is setting up an increasing number of truly integrated courses with international partners, going as far as jointly granting Masters and Doctoral degrees. Some of these courses have been awarded the prestigious Excellency Awards of Cameroonian Head of State per the Ministry of Higher Education..
